At Saga Central our philosophy towards privacy is simple. Just like we value ours, we know you value yours. Our aim is to provide you with a unique and unmistakably positive Star Wars shopping experience. We want you to do this knowing that we have your online personal information safety and security firmly in mind. We therefore have addressed the most common privacy related questions, each with its relevant procedural response implemented at Saga Central, by developing and implementing workable and effective personal information management procedures for your peace of mind.
Although Saga Central's privacy statement has been formulated after careful consideration of not only your legal right to privacy both from an international and national (Australian) perspective but the procedures implemented as part of our personal information management system reflect the actual everyday practices of Saga Central. In other words we practice what we put into print, not because it’s a requirement but because it makes good common sense.
So what information does Saga Central collect from you?
If you are simply surfing our website, Saga Central does not record any information that is personal in nature. Our website only collects traffic statistics. Our site does not use ‘cookies (a traffic log monitor used to identify which pages you are using/accessing most from a particular website).
The only personal information that Saga Central collects from you is what you yourself provide through our Online Order Form and/or Internet Mailing List registration.
When creating an account with Saga Central we collect your:

Saga Central being an online Star Wars toys and collectables store we need this information so we can ship your ordered goods, contact you in case there is an issue with your order and to keep you up-to-date with product information.
Additional and more in depth information may be collected for specific functions or activities, however this information, as with all information provided by you is completely voluntary. In addition, the rationale for such collections will be clearly outlined as the need arises, along with the respective data security measures that will be followed to maximize and ensure your security.
How is this information used, stored and disclosed?
Your personal information is transmitted to and stored on our secure server which has 128bit SSL (Secure Socket Layer) security encryption. If your browser is one of the 99% of browsers that accepts SSL technology, then you are automatically accessing our secure server whenever you place an order with Saga Central or access you Saga Central account. By way of background, SSL technology enables your browser to communicate with our server via a highly secure and encrypted link. This method maintains the accuracy and confidentiality of the information being transmitted (such as your Credit Card number), as it encrypts it to such a point that it can not be read by possible hacking attempts, while it is being transmitted from your computer, through the internet, to our online store.
Furthermore, access to your information is only available to authorised Saga Central staff and comes into contact with such personnel for the sole purpose of us being able to either send you the order you have requested, make contact with you in relation to your order or email you Saga Central related information (such as upcoming Saga Central promotions/sales and events). You can therefore rest assured that at Saga Central we only use or disclose any of your personal information for purposes directly related to the steps involved in you receiving your order and if you have so requested, to receive news and information related to Saga Central.

Importantly, once your orders are completed and shipped, our system is specifically designed to prompt us to delete your credit card details. This is an additional safety feature we have specifically added at Saga Central to further ensure your privacy and security.
The security of your information is paramount to us and in order to prevent unaurthorised access and disclosure we have developed and put into everyday practice strict physical, technological and managerial record keeping procedures to safeguard and maximize the security of any information you give to us.
However, although Saga Central utilises software which provides among the highest level of internet security available to date, the very nature of the World Wide Web dictates that no online transmission can claim to be absolute in terms of security. Just with all things in life there are risks, however at Saga Central we place your privacy and online security in paramount position and implement real measures to make each and every visit to our website as secure as possible.
Is my information disclosed outside the parameters outlined above?
Absolutely NOT! Saga Central will not sell your details to any third party. We will also not pass on or distribute promotional material of any kind to you on behalf of a third party. The basic principle here is that Saga Central operates with integrity and the personal information we have is not available for compromise. Believe us when we say that it costs us to maintain this level of integrity and not sell you, our fellow Star Wars fans out - a price we gladly accept to ensure your satisfaction and peace of mind.
Who can make changes to my personal details?
The simple answer to this is you and you alone. When you opened your Saga Central account you were asked to enter a username and password, as chosen by you. We strongly advise you to treat your log on information just as you would your debit/credit card details and pin numbers. This way access and thus possible changes are limited to your discretion.

Saga Central contains links to other websites that relate to either the theme of the site or the processes involved in fulfilling your order (for example, currency converter). We have included these direct 'click on' links purely for your convenience and although they appear on the Saga Central site they are indeed completely separate sites. One you click on a link you should be aware that you are leaving the Saga Central site and therefore need to be mindful that any protections that were afforded to you while you were on the Saga Central site can not carry through to the site you choose to exit to.
